Camp Nashii

Camp Nashii is a Suicide Prevention Summer Youth Camp nestled in the middle of the Yukon Flats region off the Yukon River “Nashii”(Pronounced: Nah-Shee) is the Gwich’in Athabascan word for “A place of healing” and that is what happens in the hearts of young people that attend this camp. Giving hope, healing, and encouragement to a generation of youth is what this camp is all about. Providing an opportunity to encounter God in a real and life lasting way is why we continue to build this camp year after year.

Camp Nashii has been bringing life and healing to the people of the Yukon Flats region of Alaska since 2009.

FPM has been assisting Nashii with work teams since the summer of 2020, and we’re excited to continue partnering in this great work! Projects for this summer will include continued logging & milling lumber, re-building the river dock, and possibly a new kitchen/food storage building. This trip is not for the faint of heart! You will face mosquitos, bears, and 2 weeks completely off grid with no cell phone service, but you will have a hand in accomplishing the impossible for the Glory of God!

LFM HEALY PROJECT

Last Frontier Ministries is a ministry based in the Alaskan interior, working to minister the Gospel to the remote villages scattered throughout the state. Their vision includes a missionary training center and operations hub in Healy, a town of about 1,000 residents, located along the Alaska range 2 hours south of Fairbanks.

Flashpoint Missions has partnered with LFM since 2016 in various construction projects, and started construction on a 12,000 sq. ft. dormitory/classroom building in 2019. 2022 progress goals include finishing siding & exteriors, plumbing, electrical, & mechanical rough-in, insulation, and constructing a boiler shed adjacent to the main building. This is a great opportunity to build the Kingdom while experiencing all the beauty of Alaska!

Helping Hands Wash house Project

Helping Hands Alaska is a missionary support ministry founded and operated by Jason & Jonie Mellinger, located in North Pole, Alaska. They support and serve various ministries and missionaries serving in the Alaskan bush through food distribution, travel arrangements, short term housing, mechanical repair services, and hauling and logistical support.

The wash house project will involve construction of a bath/laundry cabin next to short term housing cabins already in use on their property. This is a pressing need, as the missionaries currently are using outhouses for bathroom facilities, and doing showers and laundry in the Mellinger’s residence. You can be the hands and feet of Christ in assisting those who serve Him!
