Who We Are

Dan and Kathryn Esh
desh@flashpointmissions.org

Dan & Kathryn Esh are the founders of FlashPoint Missions, and live in Narvon, Pennsylvania with their 5 children.

They love traveling, seeing different parts of the world, and most of all, working with other believers to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ go forth into the nations! When not serving in missions, they run a small construction business and homeschool their children.

Dave King

Dave is a Board Member as well as the Travel Co-ordinator at Flashpoint, and he lives in New Holland PA.

He first went to Alaska in 2018 and on that trip God encountered him radically and a passion for missions and the people of Alaska came alive!  He is passionate about partnering with other believers across the nations to spread the gospel to unreached people groups.

John Henry Smucker

John is the Media manager for Flashpoint Missions and currently resides in Paradise PA, where he runs a small construction business.

His first trip outside of the lower 48 was an Alaska mission trip  with Desh and Kath in 2019 before Flashpoint was an organization. It was a trip that changed his life in a few different ways. He fell in love with Alaska but most important! He gave his life to Jesus.
He spends his free time (when it presents itself) reading, playing guitar or riding his motorcycle

Merv and Linda Esh

Merv & Linda Esh serve as Board Members with FlashPoint Missions, and also assist in overseeing the legal business matters of the Non-Profit 501C3. They live in Coatesville PA, and homeschool their 5 children.

They have a heart for missions, and love to empower, and enable other missionaries for God’s greater purpose of spreading the Gospel. They tremendously enjoyed taking their whole family along with a group of FPM volunteers into the bush of Alaska in the summer of 2022 for several weeks at Kokrine Hills Bible Camp, and doing some construction projects there.
Merv’s occupation is managing a hardscape supply yard in Paradise PA, and also enjoys doing prison ministry whenever possible.

Joe and Chris Wachter

Joe and Chris Wachter serve on the Flashpoint Missions board and live in Strasburg, PA.They have been married for over 40 years; have 3 grown sons and 3 grandchildren.  Joe is self-employed as an electrician and plumber and Chris is an author of 9 books in the Christian Fantasy Fiction category.

When Joe is not working he enjoys trips to Longwood Gardens with Chris.  Chris is an avid  reader and writer.  They currently attend Westminster PCA church in Lancaster

Steve and Ada King

Steve and Ada King serve on the Flashpoint Missions board as treasurer.

They live in Cochranville PA with their three children. They have a passion to be part of advancing Gods Kingdom and to see people find freedom in Christ. Steves occupation is stone masonry
